Would you like a tour?
Please email us at [email protected] to schedule your tour today.
We would love to have you out for a tour. Our tours are about an hour long, and during the tour you will learn about our mission here at RROKI, facts about the species in Kentucky, and stories of the individual birds in our care. You will be able to see many of our birds in their enclosures and at the end of the tour one of our volunteers will bring a couple of them out on gloves for a closer look. Tours will always be in the afternoon as we must reserve the mornings to administer necessary medications and treatment to the birds in rehabilitation.

Below is more information about tours to answer any further questions you may have:
- The entirety of the tour will take place outdoors. You must dress for the weather. In the event of heavy rains/storms, we will suggest the tour to be rescheduled. We want our tour patrons to have the best experience possible, and inclement weather may prevent us from providing the quality we strive for.
- The number of people per tour is limited to a total of 10. We do not have a public restroom.
- Photos are permitted, we only ask that you be respectful of our residents' space. This is their home, and we want them to feel as comfortable as possible. Our volunteers will give direction as to a safe distance to stand for a photo next to a bird if you would like. Please also turn off the flash when taking photos.
- If you are bringing small children, we ask that you please supervise them appropriately. These are federally protected wild animals and not domesticated pets. We reserve the right to stop the tour if a child is causing stress to the animals.
- We do not charge an admission fee, but since we are a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization with no state or federal funding, donations are very appreciated and needed. Support from our community is what makes our work possible. You can make a donation for the tour on our website raptorrehab.org or present a check or cash to the tour guide.
- Please keep in mind that we are a bird hospital (rehabilitation center) and not a zoo or sanctuary. We do our best to provide tours when we have the availability. These tours are limited depending on how many birds we have in our care and also based on volunteer availability. Tours are by appointment only.
